More Audacity & More Failure

The map isn’t the territory. Explore beyond the edges and boundaries of what’s conventionally accepted and defined.

Elon Musk, Sam Altman and probably Taylor swift (I know you’re judging me there, music aside she is an admirable biz woman. Follow that link ) come to mind as visionaries in what they did.

Conviction can be powerful.

A big unlock in my life came from having conviction and embracing the lessons to adapt quickly. There are no adults in the room and no one has all the answers (even though I yearn for someone to give me some). Follow your belief and iterate quickly as soon as you have some data.

Get out of analysis and planning as quickly as you can and get into action.

Impatience, used well, is not a flaw but a force for momentum.

I don’t know where the drive comes from or what dictates hunger, but if you recognize you have it. Lean in, stay the course, prepare to be humbled, and keep doing it anyway.

These lessons that you learn from Failure will be the compounding force to bettering decision-making as you go.

One of my favorite authors, Ray Dalio has this brilliant video series on Principles. It’s the approach to questioning conventions that defines the course of your path. Life will always turn out as a result of your decisions. The quality of your decisions will determine the quality of your life. Sometimes I think I feared boredom and mediocrity more than fearing failure. It turns out I did take an audacious path to move to France, not settle, work in startups when everyone I knew went to Big tech and consulting, write on Linkedin, and also even work in Product. I’m excited for the other decisions future me will take.

Have Audacity.

Never Timid.
