Play in Hard Mode

Hard mode is more fulfilling.

Playing on Hard Mode Is the Only Counter-Intuitive Way to Win. Gamers know this secret.

Reality is often a mixed bag of curveballs, simple efforts can’t prepare you.

Hard Mode = Easy Mode

What the heck?

Yep. Most people don’t want to play hard games in life. As soon as they hear an idea is hard they either reject it, or even funnier, they add it to the “someday” list (I admit I’m guilty of this too)

My friend says “Some stop because it's hard. Some start because it's hard.” I instantly relate to this.

Why?

Why do some people sign up for triathlons? Entrepreneurship?

When I hear a goal is hard, I want to do it because I know there’s almost zero competition.

Take online writing on Linkedin for example.

I can only find about 10 good writers on Product in the whole world that I’m happy to read each day. I’ve been in the writing game for the last 5 years.

So when people complain writing is hard, I laugh. There are simply not enough people doing it well. This means hard mode is easy mode if you can be patient and think long-term.

"When confidence comes from results, you gravitate toward doing easy things. When confidence comes from the ability to figure it out, nothing can stop you.”

– Shane Parrish

If you fail to develop skills along the way, you have missed the point, because the game has no end.

Play in Hard Mode and don’t burn out.

PS: You also have to have a deluded sense of relentlessness to work in Hard Mode.
